This guide explains how to collect data using the DexWild data collection system. It is split into human and robot data collection sections.


DexWild-System (Human)

First Time Setup (Important)

There’s a few steps you have to take when collecting data for the first time. I recommend you figure out these configurations on your main machine and then copy them over to the mini-PC.

Standard Procedure

  1. Plug everything in following this video.

  2. Put on the Mocap Gloves

  3. Wear the ZED camera or place statically on a tripod (the recommended method for best data)

  4. Press the camera icon! Wait for everything to boot up.

Note: If the UI does not pop up properly there can be a few main causes. See Debugging Guide below.

  1. Check the camera view to ensure aruco tags are visible
  2. Click clicker or footpedal once to start recording. The recording blocks turn green.
